Brookside Medical Trust (BMT)

Medical Aid for the Community

The Brookside Medical Trust has been set up by a group of local doctors in Earley, Reading, to help provide for health needs within the local community and further afield. Over the years many people have kindly made donations to the surgery for use within the community and it was felt it would be good to establish a charitable trust to deal with these gifts. The Trust also has a wider interest to help provide for health needs elsewhere, if that was felt appropriate by the Trustees. The main emphasis, however, remains in the local community.

Since our launch in 1992 we have been able to provide medical equipment for a variety of needs. Specialized nursing mattresses, for example for the terminally ill, enable patients to be cared for in their own homes by community nurses. Syringe drivers have also been provided which enable a continuous dose of medication to be administered to people at home rather than them being in hospital. High backed chairs have been purchased for each waiting room.

Since its inception the Trust has been generously supported by donations from individuals and families in the local community. If you would like to help by making a donation yourself, this can be arranged by contacting:
