Managing your health can be stressful and a huge inconvenience – most of us just wish we felt fit and well, all of the time.
eConsult is our online service which helps our patients access the help and advice they need at the right time, in the right place, with the right person. All identifiable patient medical data passes directly to us at the practice and eConsult will not have access to any of this information.
How Does it work?
If you have a healthcare concern or need to contact the practice for any medical reason, click on the eConsult button and select the right option for you. Fill out the online form, which asks similar questions to what a clinician would ask during an appointment. Every eConsult is then reviewed by our own team and we will be able to decide on the right care for you. We will respond to every eConsult by the end of the next working day. If we feel you need an appointment we will make sure we book one for you.
Why have we started using it?
We have a broad and highly skilled healthcare team, many of whom have specialist training and skills, and are far better placed to deal with many health care concerns, rather than a GP.
eConsult takes a detailed set of information about your symptoms or request, so we can look after patients based on their need, not who can get into the practice first, or ring the practice first. For many patients this will mean they won’t have to come into the practice helping to keep them, and our staff safe and healthy.
Using eConsult is both safe and efficient for patients, it means our patients are able to contact us with their concern at a time that suits them, there’s no hanging on the phone and no need to explain anything personal to a receptionist, plus it means our team receive all the key information upfront to help ensure patients receive the care they need. It means we are able to prioritise the most poorly and help more patients, every day we’re open! It’s a win-win!
It also provides access to masses of useful self-help advice for patients who aren’t sure whether they need to speak to one of our healthcare team yet.
