Please remember if you have a blood test or other investigation, it is your responsibility to enquire about the result. You may phone the call centre between 8.00am and 6.30pm
The time interval before telephoning for results is:
Routine blood tests: 3 days
X-rays: 7 days
Cervical smear test: All patients will be notified of the result in writing by the health authority within 4-6 weeks
The doctor will advise you if the interval is significantly different. To maintain confidentiality, results will only be given to patients in person or to parents if the patient is under 16. For patients who are not able to phone for their own results, signed consent for someone to phone on their behalf can be pre-arranged with the GP.
